Help

Come here first if you need help with the site.

Once you have access to the Blog and are happy using it, more comprehensive help on various topics will be available there.

For those of you who are not familiar with Blogging here’s a short guide to get you started.
Using the Blog

First thing to do is click the Blog option off to the right which will take you to a login screen like this one:

Login Page

Login Page

You need to register before you can use the Blog fully. This is because the system allocates permissions based on a database it constructs from the information you give. If you don’t register you will be restricted to making comments. After registration you can create your own posts. Any information you provide will be used ONLY for the correct operation of this site. The minimum we need will be a user name and e-mail address. Your password will be e-mailed to you and you can change this after you log in. The information you provide will NOT be disclosed to anyone else.

Clicking on register gets you to a screen similar to the one above requesting a user name and e-mail address. Ensure that you type in your e-mail address correctly as this is where the system will send your password. You should receive your password within a few minutes. When it arrives return to the login screen and enter your user name and password. Click on the ‘Remember me’ box if you want your system to remember your password for future sessions.

The first page you should see is your profile and should look something like this:

Your profile

Your Profile

Make any changes, such as changing your password to something you’ll remember.

Click ‘Update Profile’. Then click ‘View Site’, at the top left, and you’re off :-)
